The Practice

Hampden Law is a specialised practice dealing with company and commercial law. Our particular spheres of interest are intellectual property, franchising, agency and distribution, commercial agreements and transactional work such as the purchase and sale of businesses and companies. We also regularly work for international clients and have close contacts with lawyers around the globe.

Clients

Our clients range from sole traders to listed companies, and their activities from marketing and media through manufacturing to financial services. We have many clients in the insurance broking and insurance underwriting sector, though this is by no means a specialisation.  For example, we act for intellectual property licensing companies, educational and training establishments and firms of accountants. If there is a common, or at least a recurring theme, it is the entrepreneurial nature and spirit of our clients with whom we aim to develop long term relationships and a thorough understanding of their businesses.

The principal of Hampden Law is Anthony Rose who has forty years experience in commercial law, both in industry and in private practice. His aim is to provide practical and commercial advice promptly and at reasonable cost.

Associates

As a member of the Hampden Chambers network of independent solicitors, Hampden Law can draw on the significant resources of that group and the other member firms, with expertise in different areas such as litigation and property, which Hampden Law does not cover.

The Hampden Group offers all the back up and support of a major financial services group including notable experts in tax, financial planning and accountancy in particular.

Hampden Law operates from offices in the City of London and in Gloucestershire. Meetings can be held at either of these locations, as well as at Hampden House, the Grade 1 listed mansion near Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, or at a client's own premises. This is often the best option particularly if, as is frequently the case, it is necessary to understand the client's business before the legal problem or project can properly be considered.
